In this incident several years ago on July 1, 2016, a semi-truck tipped over and spilled its cargo at the edge of the road. Team Pro-Enviro responded with a cargo reload service, as spills don’t always involve fuel and oil! In this instance, product boxes needed to be cleaned up and reloaded.
Team Pro-Enviro arrived at the scene promptly to help with the cargo spill. First, team Pro-Tow helped upright the truck. Once the vehicle was ready to go, we then reloaded the cargo. Handling these types of recoveries is something our team is happy to do. But understanding how a load can cause an accident is the first step to avoiding any trouble.
What Causes a Load Shift?
The most common cause for a load shift is when the cargo isn’t initially appropriately loaded. Uneven weight distribution across the axles and truck can cause accidents during transport. It can even mean a full tip over when taking a turn in the worst-case scenario.
During the loading stage, the cargo must be loaded with perfect balance at both ends of the trailer. That way, the weight is evenly spread out, and the truck can maneuver safely. That said, if you do need help with load handling, Team Pro-Enviro is just a call away.
What is Load Handling?
Load handling is one of the services Team Pro-Enviro offers. We first righten the truck and then handle the load when we respond to an accident. Any spilled cargo will be recollected and then reloaded the proper way if the truck is in working order. Sometimes, the accident causes damage to the fuel tank, and a fuel or oil spill recovery is necessary.
If the cargo is large, we have the necessary equipment, like storage containers, logs, or other heavy products. We can crane lift the products and still guarantee they get loaded and strapped down the right way to avoid another accident.
Your load and journey will be safe and secure with Team Pro-Enviro on the job!
