2020-08-02: Cross-Loading 50,000LBS of Paper Rolls

In this incident, on August 20, 2020, Team Pro-Enviro was called in to help a logistics company that had become stranded in the middle of Washington State. Without anyone nearby to help, the truck was trapped with its 50,000 pounds of paper rolls. What they needed was a cross-load of their cargo to ensure it reached its destination. Luckily, we were brought in to help with our load service. With our trusty professionals and experience solving difficult situations, we figured it out.

What Is Cross-Loading?

Cross-loading, also called cross-docking, is a method of transportation that removes the need for warehouse storage. It is a logistics practice and load service involving unloading the incoming materials from a semi-trailer, truck or railroad car and loading them onto another vehicle. The outbound vehicle can be either a truck, trailer or another rail car, as long as there is little to no storage in between. Depending on the loads, it may be brought to a storage facility first before it is loaded onto another trailer. Then it’s ready for transport.

Both speed and better productivity are the main focuses of cross-docking. Speed is essential for all cargo and load services as logistics companies need to get back on the road as soon as possible. Products are transported directly from the supplier, distributed without being stored, and then delivered to the customer. The load service is fast and reliable.

While this incident wasn’t a technical cross-docking service, we did focus on a speedy solution that transported the materials to their destination.

Cargo Load Service and Load Shift Service

In addition to handling fuel and oil spill recovery, our Pro-Enviro team provides a load shift and cargo load service. Our cargo and load services focus on the materials being transported. We first recover, then safely reload it for transportation.

If improper loading has caused a dangerous shift during transport, our team can help. Load shifts risk causing turnovers, accidents, or the materials spilling onto the road and becoming a safety hazard. Our operators and staff are qualified and skilled at helping to lift and secure your load safely. If necessary, we bring it to a secure yard to safely reload for a safer trip.

When you need a load service or spill recovery, our Pro-Enviro team is ready and standing by to help!
