In this incident, on April 1, 2022, a semi-truck and trailer were in an accident with a bus. The resulting accident resulted in significant damage to the truck. The accident also caused damage to the fuel tank, which led to a diesel fuel spill on the road.
Team Pro-Enviro was called to the scene to help with the semi-truck diesel spill and brought the necessary equipment to handle the cleanup.
Spill Recovery
Once we arrived at the scene, we did a scene assessment to put together the best recovery plan. Our team decided to focus on stopping the spill and then start on the road cleanup. First, we applied some absorbents to the spill and let the application dry up the fuel. We also applied absorbent pads and then cleaned up the fuel spill. Finally, with the spill contained and cleaned up, our team cleared away the absorbent pads and powder from the road.
Unfortunately, diesel spills can create risks for fires, traffic hazards, and pollution threats. Therefore, proper spill recovery and cleanup are critical to ensure the roads are thoroughly cleaned and returned to their original condition – risk-free.
A Job Well Done
Once we contained the semi-truck diesel spill, Team Pro-Tow arrived to tow the truck away. They first detached the semi-truck from the trailer to make the loading and hauling process easier. After they secured the semi-truck and trailer, we returned to the storage yard.
