In an incident that occurred back on August 8, 2018, a semi-truck hauling a trailer got into an accident on Snoqualmie Pass, WA. This accident resulted in a fuel tank leak. Team Pro-Enviro responded to this call. We arrived at the scene to handle the fuel spill recovery with the necessary equipment.
Getting on Top of The Spill
Once we arrived, the next step was to assess the best way to contain this spill. The fuel tank only leaked onto the road during this incident. Also, because this leak took place during the summer, there was no fuel spill recovery on ice or snow that needed attention.
In our first step, Team Pro-Enviro contained the spill at the source. Next, we applied our special absorbents to draw the contaminants from the road.
From there, it was all about disposal. First, we used a bobcat to rid the accident site of all remaining contaminants from this diesel fuel spill. With the bobcat, we could transfer the debris into a trailer. Once this was complete, we swept up the road. In the end, all materials were properly disposed of, and we submitted all the necessary documentation needed for a diesel fuel spill recovery such as this.
